「きものサローネ2016」Kimono Salone
Yesterday I jumped back into my kimono, did my hair and went to Kimono Salone – a 3 day event / exhibition of kimono brands in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
昨日は久々に着物でお出かけしました。初めての「きものサローネ」へ！
But let’s start from the beginning – as always with my outfit:
I finally tried to do Nihongami again. It was quite a fight, because I used a cheap stupid extension which doesn’t work well for Japanese hairstyles. But I somewhat won the fight.
Instead of Japanes-y accessoires I used a vintage comb I wore at my wedding and a kanzashi I made myself.

二回目の日本髪をやってみました。まだ満足できない。毛たぼは大きすぎると思います。今度直さなきゃ！
日本らしい髪飾りの代わりに結婚式に付けてたアンティークの飾りと手作りの簪を髪に刺しました。後ろはかのこですけどね。（笑）
The kimono is a ro summer kimono in pastel blue/pink/purple colours. Because I don’t like cute colours much, I paired the kimono with a black dragon obi to give it a cool touch.
以外と暑かったので夏着物にしました。あまり可愛い系のは好きじゃないので、パステルカラーの着物を黒いカッコイイ帯で抑えました。
At Kimono Salone I bumped right into Kevin, who is the head behind Omomuki Kimono (趣着物 @omomuki_gram on Instagram), a quite popular kimono account.
He co-supported the event and they had a lovely photo wall up which looks like the cover of the famous 美しいキモノ magazine (utsukushii kimono – beautiful kimono).
日本橋のYUITOで開催されてるきものサローネで大人気の着物メディア「趣着物」のケビンさんと会いました。
（ご存知でだと思いますが、Instagramは @omomuki_gram ご確認お願いします。）
ケビンさんはきものサローネもサポートしてて、「美しいキモノ」と言う有名な雑誌のフォトウォールで待ってます☆

Let’s take a spin through the 2 floors of kimono booths and fun.
All kinds of different companies and designers dressed mannequins and had them lined up randomly across the space. Visitors could vote their top 3 coordinates.
じゃ、回ってみましょうか？
キモノサローネって展示会みたいなイベントですね。色々な着物ブランドやデザイナーはブースを持って、新作などを展示したり、販売したりします。
そして様々なメネキンはフロアで並んでて、あるブランド品での楽しいコーデを見せます。ご来店の皆さんはアンケートに好きな三つのコーデを書いて、出せますよ。最後にランキングの発表をするのかな？？
It was a nice mix of very traditional and modern brands.
伝統的とモダンな着物ミックスのバランスは良かったです。
JOTARO SAITO was there too! They have some fun studded haneri and other new items.
JOTARO SAITOもいました！残念ながらまた斉藤さんと会えなかったです。いつもタイミング合わないみたいです。必ず私は行くときにはいない（笑）
On the show stage there were some Japanese dancers performing too.
日本舞踊や他のショーもありました。しっかりと見たかったですが、行くのは遅くて時間が足りなかったです。
Autumn feels.
秋の気分ですね。

アートに詳しくないけど、Klimtさん（？）の作品みたいですね。
The fun bag and accessory brand Japaran also had a booth!

She is always so sweet and stylish! Look at the funky bow ties! They are made of traditional woven fabric. Love them!
可愛いバッグやアクセサリーブランドJaparanも出店しました。千鶴さんは相変わらず可愛い♡
新作の蝶々ネックタイは素敵〜 うちの旦那はオシャレにしてくれればいいのになぁ。その代わりに私はこれ付けようかな。

Popular and affordable brand Berry工房 was there too.
You can customise geta and they have 5m long soft obis to tie in a modern way.
大人気のBerry工房もいました。カスタマイズできる下駄や５mのソフト帯もあって、買うかどうか悩みました。
（最近の引越しでたくさんお金は飛んじゃいましたので、昨日はガマンしました。）
And then.. I bumped into Sato-san! She always has a lovely antique kimono style and I love her water wave hair.
We have been connected online for a while but never managed to meet yet.

While we are already introducing people.. Same experience with Tamao Shigemune. Suddenly she was standing next to me.
She also has her own line of traditionally made kimonos and accessories.

アーティストと着物デザイナー玉緒さん（玉緒重宗）もやっと会えた。もう嬉しすぎました〜☆
Among the torso’s I also spotted the Hiroshima Carps kimono. I love it so much – its a shame I’m not a baseball fan. haha.
広島東洋カープの着物も発見！デザイン的にはすごく欲しいけど、野球は全く分からん（笑）
In one room you could try out some weaving, dyeing and quick nihongami with a pre-made set.
体験室もありまして、織物、染物や日本髪風アレンジの体験はできました。大阪から和裁の方もいらっしゃいました。
This lady however is always making her nihongami traditionally with tsubaki oil and sleeps on this old-style pillow (which Maiko still use today).
She is so cute!
この可愛いお姉さんは昔ながらの日本髪を椿油でいつも自分でやってるらしいですよ。素晴らしい！
It felt so good to be out again in Kimono after two weeks of moving house and being home mainly. The kimono addiction is real. I get shaky hands after one week not wearing kimono. Haha.
引越しでずっとオシャレできなかった私は昨日、楽しい時間たっぷり過ごしました。
二週間ぶりの着物って・・週に一回きもの着ないとイライラする私に辛かったですわ。（笑）
