「谷崎潤一郎の着物ギャラリー」 Junichiro Tanizaki Kimono Gallery

Last month I was invited to join a fun group of kimono enthusiasts and check out a lovely kimono exhibition in Tokyo.

The exhibition carried the name of Junichiro Tanizaki (a famous Japanese novelist 1886-1965) who wrote about and drew many women in lovely (now antique) kimono. The gallery showcased a lovely collection of taisho roman kimono and accessories and was hold in the Yayoi Museum in Tokyo.

先月は着物好きのグループに誘い、弥生美術館の「谷崎潤一郎文学の着物を見る」に行ってきました。

あまり詳しくないですが、文章やモデルになった姉妹の写真を元にして、忠実に着物を再現して展示したそうです。 大正ロマン着物たっぷりの展覧会でした。

Unfortunately it was not permitted to take photos inside the museum so I will just add some released ones of the exhibit:

残念ながら、美術館内は撮影禁止でしたため、あまりたくさん見せられません。下記の写真は雰囲気を伝えるのでしょうか。

It was a lovely exhibit with a nice selection of antique kimono and artwork of women in kimono.

素敵な展覧会でした。自分の着物コーデの新しいアイディアも出ました。

The dress code for this day was to match Junichiro Tanizakis taste of kimono so I selected this taisho roman komon in red with books painted all over.

Paired with a grey Hakata obi in the Kouken (後見) musubi and some flashy green details. Geta are from Furifu.

着物コーデは谷崎潤一郎のテーマに合わせて、大正ロマンの小紋を選び、博多帯を後見結びにしてみました。 この小紋のがらは本です。

ピッタリですね（笑）

下駄はふりふです。

The other ladies and gents were also all dressed in superior antique kimono style. So many fun coordinates.

皆さんもとても素敵なアンティーク着物を着てた☆

After the exhibit we all headed to a nearby shrine and park to have a good time and take some pictures.

美術館の後は皆で根津神社へ行って、楽しい時間を過ごしました。

We were also lucky that we had a Photographer among us who took some lovely group photos.
