「六本木ヒルズ春まつり」Roppongi Spring Festival 2018
Last weekend (7th and 8th of April, 2018) I participated the spring festival or “Haru Matsuri” at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.
2018年4月7及び8日と六本木ヒルズさんの春祭りに参加させてもらいました!
六本木ヒルズの春まつりとは、六本木ヒルズ自治会、森ビル株式会社主催で六本木ヒルズアリーナで毎年行われます。今年は六本木ヒルズさんの15周年でしたよ！
Although the Bon dance in summer is well known, the spring festival is still not as famous yet. Organized by the Roppongi hills local community group and the Ropppngi Hills company, this event is held every year at the Roppogi Hills arena.
2018年は、着物が一つのテーマで、花影きもの塾さんの協力で着物レンタルもありました。
6日は強風で中止になってしまいましたが（安全第一！）、残りの2日間は、天気よく、特に8日は最高の天気でした。前の日の強風もあり、桜はきれい(笑)に散っていましたが、輝く太陽の下では新緑が映えてとても良かったですよ。春を感じる二日間でした。
One of the biggest themes this year was to wear kimono and enjoy the spring in Roppongi. Therefore people could rent and get dressed in kimono for a very low price. The event is timed with the annual cherry blossom season, yet this year the flowers bloomed too early which left the event without the lovely pink blossoms. People still seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
The event usually lasts three days and starts on a Friday, yet unfortunately had to be cancelled on the 6th due to very strong wind (which would not have been safe nor enjoyable). The weekend turned out to be much better yet a little chilly still. On Sunday though the sun was shining and the lush green leaves of cherry trees signalized the start of the warmer season in Japan.
ちなみに、毎年、国際的スターであるクレヨンしんちゃんやピカチュウも参加する地域を上げての大イベントです。ピカチュウと一緒に写真を撮ってもらいました。やったー(笑)
Shinchan and Pickachu from Pokemon came for this event. So of course I had to at least take a picture with Pikachu, haha!
今回の出し物で面白いステージが繰り広げられました。日本と海外の音楽とダンスを融合したショーが特に目を引きました。
TRIQSTARというグループは、ロボットダンスと日本舞踊風の動きを合わせて、しかも、面白い！オリラジさんたちの音楽活動とも関係しているんですね。すごい！偶然にも、友達と私も、TRIQSTARと同じ柄の着物を着てたんです。
次回は競演しましょうか？（笑）
The event has some shows on stage which were a mix between Japan and Western music or dance. My personal favorite was the dance group TRIQSTAR who mixed robotic dance with Nihonbuyo influences plus a lot of humor!
By coincidence my friend and me were wearing the same colours as the group. Don’t we blend in well?
The next door TV Asahi entrance hall was also open so I had a fun chat with Kuroyanagi Tetsuko.
TV朝日さんがすぐ隣ということで、憧れの黒柳さんとも話す機会がありました （笑）徹子の部屋、いいですね。
TV朝日さんは、屋台と、ちょっとした休憩のできるテントを出してくださってました。
On the second day I wore an antique kimono paired with a modern python look obi.

次の日は、近代柄のパイソンの帯とアンティークの着物を合わせてみました。伝統 x 現在の柄遊びは好き。
Loved to see some stylish men in kimono as well! Denim kimono, jersey kimono, silk kimono – you name it.
スタイリッシュな着物男子も紹介したい！こんなに着物を着こなすなんて！カッコイイ。正絹の着物だけでなく、現在のデニムやジャージ着物はとても着やすいし、家での丸洗いもできる。着物とスニーカーなどもイイね！
これより少し前にはアークヒルズで桜まつりがあります。こちらも楽しそうですね。
今回の春まつりと並んで、六本木ヒルズでは、夏祭り(去年初めて参加したのですが、櫓を囲んで盆踊り楽しかったです)、クリスマスマーケット(本場ドイツのクリスマスマーケットがそっくりそのまま。。とはいかなくても(笑)、きれいで、美味しいドイツビールがたくさん飲めるお祭りです)など他にも楽しいイベントをやってますので、適宜ウェブサイトを見てみてね。
A week before this event, there usually is a Sakura festival at Ark hills nearby. Looks quite fun with cherry blossoms. As mentioned earlier, there also are Summer events and a Christmas market every year.
会場に来てくれた皆様有り難うございました。初日中止にもかかわらず来てくれた人もいて、ごめんなさい。お祭りに関わってくださった自治会や各方面の方々、有り難う。声をかけていただいた六本木ヒルズさん、有り難うございました。また一緒に楽しいイベントができたらいいなぁ。
