「斉藤上太郎コレクション」JOTARO SAITO 2018 A/W

On Wednesday I went to see the new collection of kimono designer JOTARO SAITO at the Tokyo Fashion Week.

水曜日（2018年3月21日）に、東京ファッションウィークにて、着物デザイナーのJOTARO SAITO（斉藤上太郎）さんの新作発表を訪問しました。

Although the cherry blossoms started blooming and we had 22°C a couple of days back, on the day of the collection we had snow and heavy rain at only 2°C!! What are the chances? Haha!
So instead of a silk kimono I had to go with something washable – how handy that I have a jersey kimono by JOTARO SAITO himself. Although not made for the Winter time, the houndstooth wool coat I made recently kept me super snug in this ungrateful weather.
To not get my feet wet I paired the kimono with Dr.Martens boots.

数日前まで気温22度、桜も咲き始めたところでしたが、発表会ではなんと2度！雪が降り、その後、大雨と、なんともスゴイ天気でした。
そんな天気でしたので、正絹のキモノでなく、洗えるものを着ていくことにしました。ジョウタロウ・サイトウのジャージのキモノがありましたので、そちらを着ていきました。羽織ったのは、冬物ではないのですが、自作の格子縞のウールコートです。こんな天気でもとても暖かかったぁ！
足元はドクターマーチンで完全防御。

To see the show I invited Stasia along with me. After a vegan lunch in Shibuya (I was surprised how tasty it was!!) we headed for the showroom.
On the way Stasia snapped some pictures of me – and I am so in love! Probably the first pictures of me in the rain. She captured me so beautifully and I love the gloomy mood.

今回は、お友達のスタシア（Stasia）さんと一緒に参加しました。渋谷のビーガン食のランチ（すごい美味しかったです）後、会場へ出発！
途中では、スタシアさんに何枚か写真を撮ってもらいました。とてもうまく撮ってくれた！ありがとう！（初めて）雨の中にもかかわらず、とてもキレイにとってくれました。ちょっとダークな感じが大好き！
スタシアさん、大感謝！

The new Autumn/Winter 2018 collection is called “MADOWASU” and gorgeous as always.
I love the dark tones and cool styling.
Especially the fact that JOTARO SAITO offers cool kimono for men is great, since most men kimono are just plain colored and a bit boring compared to the ladies ones.
Not here though – even men pull off the kimono with scarves and cool bags. The jackets have hoods, zippers and other elements rarely found in the kimono world.
Very refreshing.
2018年秋冬コレクションは、”MADOWASU（惑わす）”で、いつもながらにゴージャスでした！
ダークでクールな感じとても良かったです。
通常、男性向け着物は、女性向けに比べて、単色でシンプルなものが多いのですが、ジョウタロウ・サイトウは、男性向けにとてもカッコいい着物があるのが素晴らしいですね。
このブランドは、違います！男性でも着物とスカーフや良い感じのバッグを身に着けてます。フード、ジッパーなどなどが付いたジャケットなど着物の世界では、面白い方向性をもっています。
とても興味深いです！

After the show we had some sparkly sake on the house (I am not a sake fan but omg this was very good!) and the father of Jotaro Saito, Sansai Saito was present as well.

So great to see many familiar faces and make new acquaintances.
発表会の後は、スパークリング日本酒が振舞われました。普段日本酒は飲まないのですが、これは最高でした。斉藤上太郎さんのお父様「斉藤三才」さんも同席されてました。(ぜひ、三才さんについての記事も読んでね: 「斉藤三才」Saito Sansai, Roots of Jotaro Saito )

And I got another snap with all the handsome male models! The lovely lady next to me came all the way from Hiroshima to see the show. Turns out she has been following me on Instagram for a while. What a small world! So lovely to meet you. ♡
