Autumn feels
Last week we had a sudden curtain of snowfall here in the Tokyo area and I was a little worried – as I didn’t have time yet to go out and appreciate the autumn foliage properly.
Thankfully 2 days later we had bombastic weather so I jumped back into my kimono to embrace the yellow and red coloured trees.
On my check list I had this lovely Japanese garden in Kokubunji called ‘Tonogayato garden’ so I got up early to get there.
The snow had basically melted already and a lot of people gathered already in the gardens tea house / viewing platform at the hillside from where you can look onto the trees and a lovely pond.
The sun felt warming and made those coloured leaves glow beautifully.
I wore a dark green silk komon with woven stripes and a pattern looking like tiny cracks. Paired with a red antique obi with crane embroidery, leather tabi from Jotaro Saito and my own design zori (which I will write about next time).
This is my husband by the way.
I can’t believe its December already. Soon 2016 will come to an end.
But before that let’s enjoy the best kimono weather! Not too hot, not too cold!
