「黒留ナイト＠東京キモノショー」Kurotome night @ Tokyo Kimono Show

On the 30th of April I joined the fun “Kurotome Night” at the week long Tokyo Kimono Show at COREDO near Nihonbashi.
For that event about a 100 people joined in the dress-code “kurotomesode” (黒留袖）which is a formal black kimono with a colourful artwork only in the bottom third of the kimono.
This kimono usually will be worn by the mothers of a couple at the wedding reception. There are also a few other occasions to wear this kimono, but not too many, so there are more and more fun events in Tokyo to make sure these kimono aren’t doomed to die in the kimono closet.

４月３０日には「黒留ナイト」に参加しました。
日本橋の近くにあるコレドで一週間以上に「東京キモノショー」との展示＆イベントは開催されましたうち、黒留袖を着るイベントもありました。
普段、着る機会は少ない黒留袖を箪笥から引っ張って、楽しむイベントに１００名くらいの参加者！！素晴らしい！

まずはアンジーの着物コーディネートを紹介します。少し暑かった（笑）

My outfit for the day looked like this:

The start of the event was a small kurotome fashion show. Unfortunately it was in a small crammed place and too many people so that most couldn’t see much. Therefore I won’t cover it here much in detail.

黒留袖の着物ファッションショーを得に楽しみしていましたが、残念ながら・・ステージは小さくて、スペースもなくほぼ何も見れなかったです。（泣）仕方ないですが、こちらでコーディネートを紹介はできなくなっちゃいました。

After the show I took the time to see the wonderful kimono coordinate exhibit – the main part of the Tokyo Kimono Show. 200 different outfits were presented here!
A really nice collection of modern and chic kimono.

ショーの後は「東京キモノショー」のメイン展示へ！なんと着物コーディネートを２００種類！
目がキラキラした！とても美しい着物はたくさん並んでて感動しました。（夢はありますね〜）

Next up was the kurotome night / party.
I have never seen so many kurotomesode kimono in one place!! Everybody looked so amazing – from traditionally to cool modern dressing. One kimono, so many ways to style and rock it!

その後は黒留ナイトのために集合。
初めてこんなに黒留袖をみました。キャー　皆さんはとてもお洒落でした。伝統的な着付けそしてモダンな変わったコーデでも。着物の楽しさが溢れてる〜〜♡
