「森美術館：塩田千春展」Mori Art Museum: Shiota Chiharu
When you think of a museum, often a very conservative space comes to mind. Perhaps a large hall with classic artworks hanging on the wall?

皆さんは、美術館よく行きますか？
さて、「美術館」と聞いて、どんな感じを思い浮かべるでしょうか？大きなホールの壁に絵がかかっている情景が浮かぶのではないでしょうか？
The Mori Art Museum, located in the Roppongi Hills Tower, however is changing up the game! Currently showcasing the exhibition of famous artist Shiota Chiharu – you can walk into a slightly dark and surreal world.
六本木ヒルズの森美術館は、そんな概念をいい意味で壊してくれました。現在、開催中の塩田千春展です。超現実的で、ちょっとくらーい世界に足を踏み入れることができちゃいますよ！
今年の6月からやっている展示で、周りの友達がSNSでシェアしているの見て、ずぅーと気になっていた展示会なんです。念願かなって、訪問することができました。しかも、SALZ Tokyoとして、キモノ撮影をすることも出来てしまったのです！！
Shiota Chiharu: The Soul Trembles 塩田千春：魂がふるえる
The Mori Art Museum website states: 森美術館によりますと：
Berlin-based international artist Shiota Chiharu is known for performances and installations that express the intangible: memories, anxiety, dreams, silence and more. Often arising out of personal experience, her works have enthralled people all over the world and from all walks of life by questioning universal concepts such as identity, boundaries, and existence. Particularly well-known is her series of powerful installations consisting of threads primarily in red and black strung across entire spaces.
This will be the largest-ever solo exhibition by Shiota Chiharu. The subtitle “The Soul Trembles” references the artist’s earnest hope to deliver to others soul-trembling experiences derived from nameless emotions.ベルリンをベースにしたアーティスト塩田千春は、非物体的なもの、例えば、記憶、懸念、夢、静寂などを表現するパフォーマンスやインストレーション作品で世界的に知られている。自身の経験から湧き出る彼女の作品は、自我、境目そして存在といった森羅万象の概念に疑問を投げかけることにより世界中の人々を惹きつけ、そして、慣れ親しむ社会的概念から引き離すのである。特に、著名なのは、赤と黒の紐を、空間いっぱいに張り巡らした力強いインストレーション作品のシリーズである。
今回、塩田千春のこれ迄で最大の展示である。副題である「魂がふるえる」は、表現することの出来ない感情たちから紡ぎ出される魂のふるえるような体感を人々に届けたいという作者の切に願う希望から生まれている。

塩田千春さんは、ドイツベースに加えて、私の故郷に近いハンブルクでも学んでいたことがあり、（一方的に 笑）とても親しみを覚えます。もし、チャンスがあったら、一緒にコラボしたいですね！！わたしは、今年のはじめ、ベルリンにおりまして、また今度ベルリンに行く機会があれば、会いませんか？笑
Also allowing photos in several areas of the exhibition, I just had to wrap Taama, singer of the band ROACH in a dark and edgy kimono for pictures. With all his tattoos he just became an artwork himself!
In Japan, there still is quite a stigma attached to tattooed people. Hopefully we did not scare any other visitors or viewers of my social media… Not everyone who looks scary is a bad person, haha.
今回の撮影もなかなか個性的で面白いですよ。
モデルさんは、沖縄出身のラウドロックバンドROACHのボーカルTaamaさんです。ROACHのライブに行く機会もありました。すごい盛り上がりで、ぜひ、先ずは音楽聴いてみてくださいね。
本展示では、いくつかのエリアにて撮影許可を頂き、Taamaさんに、ちょっとダーク且つエッジの効いた着物をまとって頂きました。この髑髏の着物は、うちのショップのベストセラーでもあります。世界各国からご注文を頂いています （広告です ｗ）。
パワフルなアートにパワフルなボーカリスト、この組み合わせは最高です。芸術のカリスマの競演といったところです（私を除く 涙）。
Fun fact: The kimono he is wearing is actually my own womens kimono which I altered a little to make it look like a mens one (the rest can be done with the dressing). Taama did not wear a kimono since his childhood – hope I could motivate him a little to try out kimono in the future.
実は、Taamaさんが着ている着物は女性用のものを、少し直して、男性用にしてみたんです。Tamaaさんは、子供のとき以来、着物を着てなかったんですって。これを機会に、これから着物を着てみてほしいな。着物でライブとか、すんごい興奮しますｗｗ
音楽と着物って、ものすごく、「合う」！
The exhibition itself was absolutely mesmerizing. Apart from the two large rooms covered in red and black thread, there was much more to see. Highly recommend!
