SALZ Tokyo teamed up with embroidery artist SHISHUMANIA to create this unique mens kimono.
Men’s kimono made of soft fishbone wool lined with golden threads.
Germany meets Japan. From the Hamburg port to Tokyo.

Inspired by Hamburg, my second home in Northern Germany, I designed this mens kimono in a nautical theme. The large embroidery parts are meant to be an homage to the ‘Sukajan’ jacket.
Being a port city until today, Hamburg has a rich history of sailor culture and fisherman’s tales to go around, as well as a popular red light district – hence the pin up inspired girl.
The design of the kimono edge has been altered into a rounded shape and the inside bottom half has been enhanced with a black lightweight fabric to ensure the wool kimono glides smoothly while walking.
